Teaching Children Table Manners Can Be Fun!
Last night as our family sat together for dinner, my husband passed out two G.O.L.D. Standard tickets to each family member. (For information on downloading tickets, go to: www.firstratefamily.com) He immediately had the attention of all of our children and they were bursting with curiosity!
He then explained the rules for dinner that night. While we ate, we were instructed to watch each other to make sure we all used good manners. If someone "caught" someone else using bad manners, then he or she could take a ticket from that person. Our children (or their parents) could be caught for the following bad manners: chewing with their mouth open, talking with their mouth full, putting their elbows on the table, using their shirt or arm for a napkin, leaving the table without asking to be excused, and so on!
